The third Final Fantasy XIV expansion takes place in a different world.
That is, a world that is made entirely of recycled assets and thematic material.
A world that will delay by two real-world years the main storyline.
The servers have been remarkably smooth for a MMORPG launch. Despite a DDOS, instability was minimal, and lag isn’t too noticeable.
I’ll have more to write about it when I spend less time actually playing it. I want to write, in particular, about a specific change in my main job, from a game design perspective, in the near future.
But for now, here’s a souvenir photo. We’re on the minecart ride stage assets entirely lifted from 2.0.
